Together, the stories of Gabriel Giron, a cancer survivor and former US Army soldier serving during 9/11, and Kirk Latimer, a survivor of suicide and former High School English teacher, speak from an original and authentic perspective. Chris Anthony

Chris is a Colorado native, University of Colorado graduate and longtime Vail resident.  For a good portion of his life Chris has competed at an international level in both cycling and skiing.  For more than 27 years, Chris has traveled as a member of the Warren Miller film team as both an athlete and host of the nationally acclaimed film tour.  During his career Chris has free-lanced for several publications, co-authored a guidebook, commissioned and wrote a screenplay, and hosted and produced several television and film projects.  Chris has been booked for hundreds of speaking engagements and started a consulting and guide business. He has also volunteered thousands of hours for a number of charitable organizations and along the way, raised over a million dollars on their behalf prior to building his own youth outreach project that has impacted over 70,000 students to date.

Sam Sorbo 

Sam holds many titles including filmmaker, radio host, actress, international model, author, wife, mother, and home education advocate. 

After high school in Pittsburg, PA, Sam studied biomedical engineering at Duke University before pursuing a career in modeling. Modeling offered her the chance to travel and learn languages; she is fluent in five. Sam moved to Los Angeles for acting, where dedication and perseverance gained her roles in several films (Bonfire of the Vanities and Twenty Bucks) and TV shows, including Chicago Hopeand Hercules: The Legendary JourneysHercules introduced her to Kevin Sorbo, who swept her off her feet. They married in 1998 and she moved to New Zealand. While living in Auckland, Sam created and published a humorous and educational photo-book, Gizmoe: The Legendary Journeys, Auckland. Sam’s most recent book, with co-author Marius Forté, is The Answer: Proof of God in Heaven.  She is radio host of nationally syndicated The Sam Sorbo Show, speaks publically around the country and recently appeared in the movies Hope Bridge, with Kevin Sorbo and Boo Boo Stewart, and Just Let Go with Ian Cusick, for which she won "Best Supporting Actress" at the Utah Film Festival.

Dr. Shirley Raines

Dr.  Shirley Raines, the first woman president of the University of Memphis, served for 12 years in the role. Now, as president emeritus, she is a speaker, consultant and author.  Growing up on a small cotton farm in West Tennessee, her career journey went from preschool teacher to the first woman president of the University of Memphis.

Shirley uses humor, examples, insights, challenges and concrete strategies to inspire and inform audiences from the podium, the classroom and the boardroom.  Described as "powerful, prepared and personable," her two focus areas are leadership development and the value of education in society.

Based on her wealth of experiences, Dr. Raines is the consummate energizer of leaders and their teams. For seven years, she shared her leadership stories, challenges and pitfalls at Harvard’s Institute for New Presidents and Chancellors. Now, Shirley is in demand to work with non-profits, corporations, foundations and professional associations to inspire, inform and challenge leaders, team members and citizens.  Whether in the board room or from the conference podium, she conveys her leadership stories with humor, dignity and style.
